Description
Agavetlán takes us on a journey between the past and the present, as we can deduce from the name, which is inspired by pre-Hispanic roots, but its image has that young essence of today.
Agave is the scientific name given to mezcal by the naturalist Carlos de Linneo in the 18th century (agavus), while the ending "Tlan" is of Nahuatl origin and means place. The union of both terms gives rise to this territory, a place of agaves.
